Courtney W. Thomas began her dance education 23 years ago at All About Dance under the instruction of Mrs. Raye-Lynn Melancon. Her dance education includes training in ballet, tap and jazz. This training enabled her to serve as a member of the St. James High School dance team. While attending a summer dance camp at Louisiana State University of Baton Rouge, LA, Courtney was selected to become a member of the American All-Star Dance & Drill Team. Through this affiliation, she performed at Super Bowl XXXI in New Orleans, LA and traveled to Rome and Florence, Italy. Courtney was privileged to be apart of this European experience where she performed for the Princess of Roma. Courtney is a graduate of the University of New Orleans where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management and a concentration in Management Information Systems. After working in the corporate sector for over six years, she decided to follow her dream and passion “Dance.” With business knowledge gained from University of New Orleans, in 2008 she made her dream a reality and took dance to a new level of creativity and fun for individuals of all ages by introducing you to Dancing Daisy’s School of Dance. Recently, she has assisted in choreographing dance routines and has served on panels as a judge for various local groups and schools including Lowery Intermediate of Donaldsonville, LA. Courtney’s dream can to past when one of her students was selected to participate in Debbie Allen’s Musical “Dreams.” This was a true reflection of Courtney’s motto that dancers at Dancing Daisy’s are sure to “Bloom.”
